The New York Institute of Photography (NYIP) has partnered with Professional Photographers of America (PPA) to provide their students and graduates with widely recognized industry certification. The CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) title is the official title for photographers who want to stand out in the highly competitive creative industry.
PPA’s Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) program provides potential clients with the knowledge, experience and continuity of a photographer to develop new skills and techniques. It is a declaration of professional competence and aptitude. Through this exclusive partnership, photographers who study with NYIP can qualify to take the CPP exam and earn their certification.
Photographers who graduate from CPP do so for three main reasons. First, it gives them an advantage in advertising their services, as certification promotes trust in the minds of clients and consumers. Second, it is a way to justify the price of the services offered by the best photographers in the world. Finally, the peer validation step that is required to gain certification signals to the photography world that you really care about your craft.
“PPA is delighted to offer the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation to NYIP students and alumni through this exclusive partnership,” said Julia Boyd, CAE, Director of Certification at PPA. “As the world’s largest nonprofit photography association, PPA’s mission to create a vibrant community of successful professional photographers by providing training, resources and industry excellence standards is aligned. with the values and goals of NYIP. We look forward to spreading the power of certification as both organizations continue to raise the bar in the photographic industry. “
RPC program can be added to any NYIP program online photography course at the time of registration for $ 473. This cost is $ 50 lower than the price typically offered by PPA and includes one year of PPA membership. Students and graduates already enrolled in NYIP courses can purchase RPC directly for the same price.
After purchase, the path to certification is a simple 3-step process. First, the students will declare their application to PPA. Second, they will study and pass the PPC exam. Finally, they will submit a set of images for official review. Once the said images have been approved, the photographer will have obtained his CPP designation.
